Even though it’s a staple of many furniture makers’ lumber stash, the price of quartersawn lumber often feels unjustified. A while back, I found this video from Frank Miller Lumber that perfectly demonstrates the added work that goes into milling up quartersawn stock, and made it easier to stomach the asking price last time I was at the lumberyard. I thought it was worth sharing.
